It was founded in June 2013, formerly a individual proprietorship by Coal Chemical Corporation subordinated to the World's top 500 Nippon Steel Group. In April 2017, Fangda Carbon New Material Technology Co., Ltd. and Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. successfully achieved a strong alliance and completed corporate restructuring. The company was renamed as Fangda C-Chem (Jiangsu) Needle Coke Technology Co., LTD.  The company is mainly engaged in the research and development and production of coal needle coke, coal tar, carbon black oil and other chemical products.  The company has the international advanced coal series needle coke production technology. The annual output of coal needle coke is 60,000 tons, coal coke asphalt is 40,000 tons, carbon black oil is 110,000 tons.  The needle coke produced by the company is mainly applied in domestic production of high quality graphite electrode and lithium battery anode material production.

Jiangsu Fangda Carbon Chemical Co., Ltd., formerly known as Koppers (Jiangsu) Carbon Chemical Co., Ltd., is located in the chemical industry agglomeration area of Pizhou Economic Development Zone in Jiangsu Province.  The planned land area is 168 acres. Construction was started in February 2013 and completed and put into operation in July 2014, with an annual coal tar processing capacity of 300,000 tons.  In October 2020, it was jointly invested by Fangda Carbon New Material Technology Co., Ltd. and Coal Chemical Co., Ltd., with Fangda Carbon holding 80% shares and coal chemical holding 20% shares.  The main products of the company are soft pitch, naphthalene carbon black oil, anthracene oil, washing oil, phenolic oil, neutral sodium phenol, light oil and other related products, and provide technical consultation and service on the production, processing and sales of the products.
